Sullivan Street is a London-based buyout firm that focuses on complex situations in the lower mid-market. Founded in 2010, the firm brings an operational focus to investing and asset management by playing a proactive role in the running of its portfolio companies. The firm has built a strong 13-year track record of delivering outsized returns and successfully scaling business. As a supportive investor we stand by our ethos of ‘good business’ by effectively collaborating with management teams and leveraging our expertise to create true value. The team is headed by long-time friends and industry veterans Layton Tamberlin, Richard Sanders, and Zeina Bain. The team continue to deliver quality returns to investors and look for new deal opportunities.

Our philosophy is founded in building good businesses. We see potential in every situation we bring into the Sullivan Street portfolio by focusing on creating value for LPs and employees, as well as hands-on operational change to build good businesses. We work with each companies’ work force from associate level right up to the executive board to fully understand the business, how we can drive meaningful change, and encourage employee buy-in.
Our contrarian approach gives us a unique perspective in finding value opportunities in places other firms do not and allows access to a unique range of deal opportunities. We fully leverage low market saturation among complex situations, portfolio diversification for LPs, and macroeconomic impact on businesses to execute our ambitious plans for transformation.

The managing partners
Founded by two university friends that share a passion for building and scaling good businesses, Layton Tamberlin and Richard Sanders bring their respective experiences in private equity and operations to the forefront of all that Sullivan Street does. Zeina Bain’s longstanding career in private equity, curiosity on the operational side, and established friendship with the Co-Founders brought her seamlessly into the Sullivan Street fold.
Together we serve as operationally minded investors as well as investment minded operators to all of our portfolio companies and are able to complement each other’s respective professional backgrounds. Our collective drive to effectively work alongside management means that operations are at the heart of everything we do from origination, risk management, capital structuring, to investment.
